Apicha Community Health Center was founded in 1989 to address unmet needs in our community by advocating for a continuum of care for people with HIV, starting with prevention education and outreach to link people with HIV to primary care services.

Since then, Apicha CHC has built on that foundation of service to all New York residents, including people with limited English proficiency, those from AAPI and LGBTQ+ communities, and people with HIV, by continuously expanding and transforming our organization to better meet the needs of the people we serve.

In 2015, Apicha Community Health Center became a federally qualified health center, significantly increasing our ability to offer a range of high-quality health care services for all that come through our doors.

And in 2022, we took a dramatic leap forward in achieving our goal to reach medically underserved populations by opening a comprehensive health center site in Jackson Heights, Queens. And we continue to grow through new partnerships with community organizations, schools, food and nutrition programs and other local services providers that enhance our engagement with the people who need us the most.
