As you've probably heard, we are expanding! The construction on the first floor and cellar are almost complete and we are getting ready to unveil our newest additions to our NYC Medical clinic at 400 Broadway location.
Welcome to Our New Pharmacy
One of the things we are super excited about is the opening of our pharmacy! In our cellar, we will have an in-house pharmacy so that our patients can immediately fill prescriptions, speak with a pharmacist that is sensitive to the health concerns many of our patients have, and seek treatment in the safety of our clinic.
Filling a prescription at a pharmacy can be a daunting task, especially because of the stigma that is sometimes associated with many drugs our patients need to take in order to live their best lives. We want our patients to trust that they will have a supportive, safe space to be cared for every step of the way.
What you need to know!
What Will Be the Benefits of Using the Apicha Chc Pharmacy as Opposed to My Local Neighborhood Pharmacy?
It is convenient—there is no need to stop at the pharmacy or wait for prescriptions to be filled after leaving the clinic.
It is easy for our patients—the on-site pharmacy will fill and deliver prescriptions, work directly with care providers to coordinate prescription insurance issues, such as prior authorization to prevent any delays in starting medications.
It provides cost savings opportunities for our patients—Apicha CHC has access to not-for-profit programs that may help patients save money on prescriptions. By filling your prescriptions with us, you will support the mission and vision of our health center.
We understand your life – We are sensitive to your needs and offer a respectful environment for the LGBT community.
What Insurance Plans Do You Take?
We will take most major plans, including Medicaid, Medicaid managed care, ADAP, Medicare Part D, and most commercial insurances.
How Will I Pay For My Prescriptions?
We will take all major credit cards, cash, and personal checks.
Do You Give a Discount if I Don’t Have Insurance?
Yes, we will have discounted medications for some qualifying Apicha CHC patients. You'll need to discuss with Apicha CHC staff to see if you qualify. We also offer competitive pricing for cash paying patients.
What Types of Medications Will You Stock?
We will stock all of the common medications, including all HIV medications (including Truvada) as well as hormone preparations. If there is something you need that we don’t have, then we can order it for the next business afternoon. Our pharmacists are highly knowledgeable and stay up to date with the most current HIV treatments. They are available to discuss your prescriptions and answer any questions you may have about them.
How Will I Access My List of Medications?
A website will go live once the pharmacy is open, you'll register there to create an online account. More information about that process will be available soon.
What Will I Do if I Don’t Have Any Refills on My Prescriptions?
No problem! If you have no refills, please contact the Apicha CHC pharmacy staff and we will get in touch with your provider for you. We will be located in the same facility as your provider and this will enable us to communicate rapidly with them affording a quick turn-around time for new refills. Please keep in mind that new refills take anywhere between 1-3 business days, depending on the day you request the refill and the provider’s schedule. We will also coordinate with your provider to obtain a prior authorization with your insurance company should you need one.
Will You Sell Over-The-Counter Items?
We will have a small selection of over-the-counter meds, including cough and cold, first aid, vitamins, and digestive aids.
Will You Deliver?
Yes! We will deliver medications to patients’ homes. You must live in the five boroughs or Nassau county to utilize our FREE delivery service. All requests for deliveries must be made before 5 pm to ensure delivery for the next business day. There will be no deliveries on the weekend, so any prescription requested on a Friday will arrive at your home on Monday. Deliveries will have to be made throughout the day between 9am and 6pm, and an adult has to be home to sign for the package from the courier.
