Apicha Community Health Center offers more than quality primary care, our clinic also offers an array of other supportive services needed by our communities, such as assistance with Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Benefits.
Gone are the days when you were forced to choose between feeding your family and taking care of your other responsibilities. That is a harsh reality in which many Americans are forced to live in, but that is something no one should be forced to choose between.
What is SNAP?
SNAP stands for the “Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program,” formerly known as food stamps. It is a program that offers nutrition assistance to over a million eligible, low-income New Yorkers, including families, the elderly, and the disabled. A monthly supplement is provided to those who need assistance affording food and groceries.
The Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) works with state agencies, nutrition educators, and neighborhood and faith-based organizations to make sure that those eligible can get the information they need to decide to apply for the program and get benefits.

The NOEP Coordinators can also help you fill out the SNAP application, gather supporting documents, and send them in on your behalf.
