Dr. Gina Akopyan is a board-certified Pediatrician at Apicha Community Health Center in Jackson Heights. She obtained her medical degree in Chicago Medical School and completed her pediatric residency at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine – serving a largely underprivileged, rural community. As a first-generation Armenian immigrant starting from humble beginnings, she decided to pursue her health career with compassion and heart, resolving to bridge gaps in care for similarly underserved children and adolescents. She has greater than 6 years experience in several federally qualitied health clinics (FQHCs) with a primary focus on comprehensive care including well visits for infants, children and adolescents with routine vaccinations; sick visits; preventive care and treatment; and specialty referrals. She speaks fluent Armenian and conversational Spanish, and welcomes patients from all walks of life for their pediatric needs.
